Summit Internship Promo Video + Script
1 INT. EMPTY OFFICE, DIMLY LIT 1
TITLES: We’re getting ready for something big. (???)
A lone office desk with an office chair sits plainly against
a wall. An office lamp illuminates the desk, however dimly.
We hear a light switch flick. And an overhead light exposes
the room more. It looks sparse and bare.
HAN and LUKE walk up to the desk, each carrying a load of
office supplies. HAN is determined, examining every detail,
and seeing the potential of the blank room. H walks with a
tight gate. LUKE is upbeat but daft. He’s more loose in his
movement. They both start unloading the office supplies on to
the desk.
HAN
This is an important day, Luke. How
we support our interns could go a
long way for the work we do around
here. (Squinting eyes, gritting
teeth) I mean, have you thought
about what you might want out of
this next crop coming in August?
LUKE
Well, I was kind of hoping for
someone short. Like, I dropped my
favorite hat the other day behind
the sanctuary stage. The spot it
fell in is really small. (Using
arms/hands to mimic how one might
have to contort) So, I’m, like,
looking for someone small to go
back there and get my hat back. You
know?
HAN Right...
Yeah...I’m not sure that’s what
this is really about...
(Han takes a moment
seriously thinking)
Besides, can’t you just use any
anyone who’s small. Lord knows
Basecamp has a ton of small people.
(Waving a hand dismissively)
An intern has to be someone in
college or on the brink of a real
career.
2.
LUKE
(considering Han's remarks,
he smiles, denoting
confidence in his
affirmation)
Exactly.
The two continue unloading more of the office supplies. They
are very particular about how many of each item and where
things are placed, paying special attention to detail.
LUKE
(remarking on the office
supplies HAN is setting out)
What's with all the pencils?
HAN
(Surprised by the question,
but answering confidently)
Well, the internship is 10-months
long. So, I’m thinking one for
every month.
LUKE
OK. But what if they’re a “pen”
person? Personally, I'm more of a
pen person if you care--
HAN
(Cutting off LUKE. Worried
now.)
Oh, no. You’re right. What if they
are?
This is gonna mess up my whole
plan. I mean, what if there’s more
I’m forgetting?
LUKE
(comforting)
Hey man. No need to fret.
(with a big smile now and
confident)
Let’s just make sure they have all
the options.
HAN
(in agreement)
Like sharpies, as well.
LUKE
Crayons even. You never know.
This sort of arguing and supplies-to-personality speculation
continues as more and more supplies overcome the desk. Once,
they've unloaded their boxes, they walk off camera together,
in a manner that indicates they want to get more supplies.
Sneakily, LEIA walks in. Looking over her shoulder in a
conniving manner. She replaces some of the items with more
grandiose items or silly items. Stands back and smiles
(smirks to the camera) and walks off camera.
HAN and LUKE walk back and notice the new stuff. They’re
confused at first. Then, they smile (cheesy-style) at each
other first, then at the camera. (Could try a crash zoom to
cheesy smile?)
In fast forward??? We see them bringing more over-the-top
items for the desk and around the desk. Even items for the
wall. More and more items. A boat oar, a mammoth tusk, a
punching bag?
Camera slows down to normal speed. Han and Luke step back,
breathing heavily, but proud of their work. They look at the
room in awe of their masterpiece.
HAN LUKE It, it, it’s just perfect. ...awesome!
They turn to each other with a smile and a chuckle.
HAN
(looking at each other)
Right.
LUKE
(looking at each other)
Exactly!
They laugh at one another--how they missed one another, yet
still agreed. They walk off camera as if they just won the
Wimbledon, but try to be quiet about it to not disrupt their
coworkers.
