SONGWRITING / AUDIO PRODUCTION
Recording, songwriting, VO, and composing has been something I’ve done both professionally and as a hobby. I love to collaborate with fellow artists and see dreams become a reality. Every single project listed below helped friends advance their careers, contained tracks that were licensed for TV (the Today Show, MTV’s Road Rules, Khloe & Lamar, etc.), commercial playlists internationally, or used for radio ads domestically, and some were soundtrack work.
David R. Burleson - A Chorus of the Wild
This was my second release in the worship/spiritual genre. On this project, I was able to team up with the Latin Grammy nominated, Heitor Lima, who guided me through pre-production. This time I handled I once again handled not only the writing but the recording process as well. Jeremiah Dunlap mixed and Will Mikkelson mastered. Ben O’Riordan added his guitars as well as friends, Javier Herrero, Aaron Mellick, Aubrey Jenkins, Madison O’Connor, and Jon Johnson all making musical contributions as well.
Stingray SZN - Summer All the Time
In 2020, I got the privilege of collaborating with Nick Sarasty of Neon Niteclub. Nick is known for his 80’s inspired electro sound and this reggae-pop passion project was an experiment for both of us. Our goal was simply to have fun, but our songs are now being played in department stores in Europe and Asia.
David R. Burleson - Children of Light
In 2017, Children of Light was my first attempt in the worship/spiritual genre. Working again with Jeremiah Dunlap and friends, Ben O’Riordan of Forever Changed, Josue Torres, Brian Boyce, Aubrey Jenkins, and Dan Taylor, we were able to sculpt a folk sound with modern elements. Some of the songs from this record have been picked up and played in churches across the world.
Braiden Wood - Be Free, Be Strong
In 2014, Braiden Wood from Before You Exit decided to release his own solo project EP and he enlisted me to help with the songwriting and arranging process. I also put Briaden in touch with the very talented Greg Perkins for his album artwork.
Poverty Branch - Driving Out the Demons
In 2013, close to Halloween, Poverty Branch came back from hiatus to play a big comeback show in downtown Orlando. Working with the very talented Jeremiah Dunlap this time, we released a single for the big event.
Conspiracy Code - Video Game Soundtrack
Conspiracy Code, released in 2010, was an educational video game created by 3Ded for Florida Virtual School. Students were to travel back in time, chasing down a Chrono-bandit who was changing history as we know it. I liaised with the Lead of the project as Stephen C. Shapiro and I wrote and recorded fun futuristic mystery songs for each new world these students stepped into.
Before You Exit - A Short Story Long
Through my presence in Orlando’s music scene and my work in local churches, I was able to meet Connor McDonough and his brothers as well as Braiden Wood and Thomas SIlvers when they were still high schoolers getting started. I helped connect the band with a producer and oversaw pre-production and arranging for the band’s first EP. Since they’ve gone on to write hit songs and headline international tours.
Poverty Branch - All Systems Go!!!
For Poverty Branch’s sophomore release, in 2008, we recorded in Atlanta, GA in Matt Goldman’s famed Glow in the Dark Studios with Jeremy S. H. Griffith at the helm. With Brendan May and Kyle Cox now in the band, we had added firepower. Once again, I handled most of the songwriting duties and financed the endeavor. Songs from this projects were licensed/featured on MTV shows such as “Road Rules” and “Khloe and Lamar.”
Zephyr - Video Game Soundtrack and VO
Zephyr was a thesis project for FIEA that I worked on alongside fellow graduates Victor Lugo, Billy Bell, William Bramer, and many other talented artists, designers, and programmers. As a Game Designer and Producer, I helped with level design and responsibility for audio and VO work rested solely with me. As a sky pirate, players were to shout commands to their crew picked up by voice recognition software. The sound effects I programmed into the game as well as the voice actors I personally contracted and recorded made this project come alive.
Poverty Branch - Putting the Old Horse Down
Way back in 2005, this project started off as a debut solo album, but quickly became a full band project as Poverty Branch began making a name for themselves in venues across Central Florida and Tampa. With friends, Jon Purvis, Kyle Van Cleave, and J.P. Pratt, we recorded 12 songs. I handled songwriting duties while Stephen C. Shapiro produced this first stab at a music project.
